BOOK FAIR WEEK IS HERE!!! Happy Sunday Jet Families, we hope are enjoying the glorious weather that showed up in Houston this weekend! We had a great time on Saturday at the Herod Movie Night, it was so wonderful to see so many Jet Families and our community come together on such a wonderful evening. Big thanks to the movie night Chair Joe Coym and our technical expert, James Cabe for the perfect set up! And I know the 5th grade committee led by Detra Alton and Michelle Nasser appreciated all the concession sales as they work towards planning the 5th graders graduation and party in May!
The weeks big news is of course, BOOK FAIR! Please find a moment to stop by and support Ms. Campbell and our library- all proceeds from the book fair go straight back to the library. Make sure you check the times below, the fair is open at 7am each morning and stays open late on Wednesday and Thursday. Grandparents lunch will run on a different lunch schedule on Wednesday for Kinder only, and all other grades on Thursday. And don't forget literacy night on Thursday the 12th from 6-7:30, we hear the school has some fun things planned for all our Jets!
Huge shout outs to our Book Fair Queen, Lisa Fernandez, who has been planning and organizing behind the scenes for weeks. If you see running around the library this week- send her an extra high five! THANK YOU LISA!!!

| Get to know Mrs. Lutfak! Our Herod Hero this week comes to us from the famed second grade pod! Mrs. Lutfak!!! If you haven't had the pleasure of getting to know Mrs. Lutfak you are in for a wonderful treat! She not only is an amazing teacher, wonderful mentor and advocate to her students, she also holds the title of Herod's famed baker and Safety Patrol sponsor. We are so lucky to have Mrs. Lutfak holding it down at the top of stairs, we can't imagine a Herod without her! PTO LOVES YOU MRS. LUTFAK!
What is your hidden talent? It's not a really hidden talent but I love baking. It calms me down and relaxes me. It's my to go place when I need something to do to decompress.
What is your dream vacation? That's so hard. I love to relax, be pampered, and to be waited on (for a change) on the beach. I also like to see new places and explore, especially in Europe. So, any vacation that I can combine these two. I would love to go to Greece and cruise among the different islands, relax on the beach, and explore their history and the beauty of Greece.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do with the money? (Besides donating a portion of it to Herod PTO) Beside donating to Herod PTO, of course, I'll pay off my daughters' college loans and buy them each a house and build my dream house. It must have a big kitchen, huge dining room, a pool, and enough rooms so my girls can come visit at any time.
What Herod teachers class would you like to be a student in for a day? Love all the teachers but there is no way I'm going back to school. It's a hard pass for me.
In which Hogwarts house would you be sorted? Love watching any of the Harry Potter movies and that's where it ends. You should have asked what superhero I'd like to be.
What is your spirit animal? A dog. I'm very protective of my girls and the same of my students. I will always be there for them, and I am loyal.
Is there a quote or saying you live your life by? Live, love, laugh.
What is your favorite Herod memory? Every year I have a new memory. I love field day and I love watching my students enjoy that day. |

¡¡¡LLEGA LA SEMANA DE LA FERIA DEL LIBRO!!! ¡Feliz domingo familias Jet, esperamos que estén disfrutando del clima glorioso que apareció en Houston este fin de semana! Nos lo pasamos muy bien el sábado en la Noche de Cine de Herodes, fue maravilloso ver a tantas familias Jet y a nuestra comunidad reunirse en una velada tan maravillosa. ¡Muchas gracias al presidente de la noche de cine, Joe Coym, y a nuestro experto técnico, James Cabe, por la configuración perfecta! ¡Y sé que el comité de quinto grado dirigido por Detra Alton y Michelle Nasser apreció todas las ventas de concesiones mientras trabajan en la planificación de la graduación y fiesta de los estudiantes de quinto grado en mayo!
La gran noticia de la semana es, por supuesto, ¡FERIA DEL LIBRO! Encuentre un momento para pasar y apoyar a la Sra. Campbell y nuestra biblioteca; todas las ganancias de la feria del libro van directamente a la biblioteca. Asegúrese de consultar los horarios a continuación, la feria abre a las 7 a. m. cada mañana y permanece abierta hasta tarde los miércoles y jueves. El almuerzo de los abuelos se llevará a cabo en un horario de almuerzo diferente el miércoles solo para Kinder y todos los demás grados el jueves. | ¡Conozca a la señora Lutfak! ¡Nuestro héroe Herodes esta semana viene a nosotros desde el famoso grupo de segundo grado! ¡¡¡Señora Lutfak!!! Si no ha tenido el placer de conocer a la Sra. Lutfak, ¡se encontrará con un placer maravilloso! Ella no sólo es una maestra increíble, una mentora maravillosa y defensora de sus estudiantes, sino que también ostenta el título de la famosa panadera de Herodes y patrocinadora de la Patrulla de Seguridad. ¡Somos tan afortunados de tener a la Sra. Lutfak sujetándolo en lo alto de las escaleras que no podemos imaginar a un Herodes sin ella! PTO LA AMA SRA. ¡LUTFAK!
¿Cuál es tu talento oculto? No es un talento realmente oculto, pero me encanta hornear. Me calma y me relaja. Es mi lugar al que acudir cuando necesito hacer algo para descomprimirme.
¿Cuáles son las vacaciones de tus sueños? Eso es muy difícil. Me encanta relajarme, que me mimen y que me atiendan (para variar) en la playa. También me gusta ver nuevos lugares y explorar, especialmente en Europa. Entonces, en cualquier vacación puedo combinar estos dos. Me encantaría ir a Grecia y navegar entre las diferentes islas, relajarme en la playa y explorar su historia y la belleza de Grecia.
Si te tocara la lotería, ¿qué sería lo primero que harías con el dinero? (Además de donar una parte a Herod PTO) Además de donar a Herod PTO, por supuesto, pagaré los préstamos universitarios de mis hijas, les compraré una casa a cada una y construiré la casa de mis sueños. Debe tener una cocina grande, un comedor enorme, una piscina y suficientes habitaciones para que mis hijas puedan venir a visitarme en cualquier momento.
¿En qué clase de profesores de Herodes te gustaría ser estudiante por un día? Amo a todos los profesores, pero no hay manera de que vuelva a la escuela. Es un paso difícil para mí.
¿En qué casa de Hogwarts te clasificarían? Me encanta ver cualquiera de las películas de Harry Potter y ahí es donde termina. Deberías haber preguntado qué superhéroe me gustaría ser.
¿Cual es tu animal espiritual? Un perro. Soy muy protector con mis hijas y lo mismo con mis alumnos. Siempre estaré ahí para ellos y soy leal.
¿Hay alguna cita o dicho según el cual vives tu vida? Vive ama rie.
¿Cuál es tu recuerdo favorito de Herodes? Cada año tengo un nuevo recuerdo. Me encanta el día de campo y me encanta ver a mis alumnos disfrutar ese día. |
