The book fair is coming to Herod! The kids will have a chance to look at the books and make a wish list during the Book Fair Preview days. This will take place during their Specials time. The Book Fair will open for purchases and to the public in October. 

**This is a School Fundraiser and PTO provides support as needed.

Get ready!!! Next week we will be opening the "The Jetway" which is out on-site school store. We will be looking for volunteers for the school year and will send out the Sign Up Genius next week!

Before our amazing Herod teachers & staff returned to campus for their first day back, the runway was already buzzing with energy — thanks to our awesome Jets and their families! Herod students showed up ready for takeoff, armed with chalk, paint, and huge smiles to help transform the school into a joyful, jet-fueled celebration.

The sidewalks turned into a colorful runway, lined with bright drawings, messages of encouragement, and even an extra-special hopscotch path that zigged, zagged, and soared with creativity. The windows got a Herod Jet makeover too, decked out in cheerful doodles, hearts, handprints, and even a few loving tributes to our teachers, admin, and staff.

Kids and grown-ups worked side by side to make sure our school looked its very best — because at Herod, we know every great flight starts with a strong launchpad! The vibrant decorations were the perfect surprise to welcome everyone back and set the tone for another high-flying school year.

Huge thanks to all the Herod families who joined in on the fun. Your spirit, teamwork, and Jet pride were on full display — and the smiles on our teachers’ faces said it all. 

Here’s to a year of soaring high, staying kind, and always reaching for the skies. Go Jets!

Our youngest Jets are officially off the runway and headed for the skies! At this year’s PK and Kinder Playdate, new families gathered at the park for a morning full of smiles, sunshine, and sidewalk chalk — the perfect way to start their Herod journey.

Incoming PK and Kinder students (plus a few future Jet leaders from older grades!) met new friends, shared giggles over bubbles and chalk art, and got a feel for their new Herod family. A giant thank-you to Principal Hewett and the amazing PK and Kinder teachers who came out to warmly welcome everyone and ease those first-day jitters. It meant the world to our new families to meet the people who will be guiding their little ones this year.

Kids decorated the pavement with rainbows, rockets, and heartwarming messages.  Under the pavilion, families mingled, made connections, and got answers to their big questions — all while the kids made memories (and a little mess!) together.

This event wasn’t just a playdate — it was the first official launch for our newest class of Jets. The PTO is so proud to help bring families together as we all prepare for a high-flying year ahead.  Here’s to bold beginnings, lasting friendships, and a sky full of potential.  Welcome aboard, new Jets — we’re so glad you’re here!

We were able to provide lunch for the teachers and staff during their pre-service days before the students returned to school. During this luncheon, we informed each teacher that they will receive money from the PTO to help prepare their classrooms for the school year!
