- Picture Day is tomorrow! - Send your student(s) in their best, first-class outfit (within dress code guidelines) and make sure they have their best smile ready, too!
- Hispanic Heritage Potluck - this Wednesday, October 7th, bring your Spanish-inspired dish to share with the Herod Community, or come try traditional and new cuisine from your neighbors! The event is sponsored by our Dual-Language program, AND everyone is welcome to participate. Read below for more details.
- Book Fair needs volunteers - read below for more details, or CLICK HERE to get started!
- The Boo Grams 2026 Store is live - complete your order now while supplies last!
- Yearbook cover Contest - read below for more details on how to submit your students' artwork!
- Spirit Shirts Have Landed! - Our Herod Jets spirit shirts have arrived and have been delivered to teachers! If you purchased a shirt, it will be sent home with your student.
Didn’t purchase one? Check with your teacher - some teachers like to keep the shirts on hand for students to wear during all the FUN events and special days throughout the year! Let’s keep those Jets flying in style! Or make your purchase NOW on the school store!

| Oct 7 | Hispanic Heritage Month International Flight Get your taste buds ready for takeoff! ALL families are invited to our Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Wednesday, October 7, at 5:00 PM- a chance for our school community to celebrate the cultures, traditions, music, and food that make us special! Potluck: If you're able, please bring a favorite dish, snack, or drink that represents your family or culture. Nothing elaborate needed. What matters most is sharing together! - To participate, sign up here.

| Oct 12-16 | BOOK Fair Herod Jets In-Flight Library: The Scholastic Book Fair! Our annual Book Fair is clearing the runway, and we are ready for a first-class reading adventure. All passengers are invited to stop by the library to browse and upgrade their personal book collections. Check our flight itinerary for special events during the week: - Flight Window (Dates): October 12th – 16th

| The Boo Grams Shop is OPEN! Mission Objective: Operation Halloween Spirit! The Boo Grams Shop is open and ready for departure. Don't leave your students on the tarmac—send them a fun Halloween airdrop to fuel their holiday spirit! Put your orders into full throttle before the hangar doors close on October 27th. | Oct 30 | Trunk or Treat Get ready for a spooktacular night of treats, costumes, and community fun! We love it when our Herod families help make Trunk or Treat a success. Sign up to donate candy OR host a trunk and deck out your ride for the festivities! 🚗 Trunk spots fill up fast, so reserve yours now!🎃 Whether you go all-out with your trunk or simply help keep our candy supply flying, every contribution makes the event extra sweet. | Nov 7 | Barrel & Vine Parent Social Event Parents, this one’s for you only! ✈ Join us for a relaxed evening of smoky BBQ, good food, great company, and a little grown-up time away from the kids. Gather with fellow Herod parents for an after-school house social, while supporting the Herod Elementary PTO Annual Auction. | REMINDER Drop-Off and Pick -Up Drop-off All students enter the school at the front, either through the drop-off line, walk-up, or via buses that park on Jason Street. Please help us keep ALL students safe with these reminders. - 5th Grade Students, School Staff, Crossing guards, and Police officers are present to keep you and the students safe. You are expected to comply with their directions at all times.
- There is no parking on the school side of Jason Street, between the circle drive and Mullins - this area is reserved for BUSES ONLY.
- Follow all city traffic safety rules and posted signs. (Ex. no double parking, park on the right side of the street only, etc.)

Here is what they are and how we use them: - ParentSquare: Our official home base. Look here for school-wide announcements, emergency updates, and notes directly from your child's teacher and school staff.
Make sure to download the app so you never miss a critical alert.
- Membership Toolkit: Our friendly neighborhood hub for all things school community! Visit here when you need to buy spirit wear, get your child's birthday marquee announcement, pay for your annual PTO membership, or look up a classmate's contact info for playdates.
- Social Media: We have Facebook and Instagram for posting about PTO events, news, and upcoming events! Click the links to access, like, and follow our pages.

| Jetway The Jetway will be open most school days from 7-7:30 am. PTO Volunteers work at our on-site school store, The Jetway, and help kids shop safely and learn valuable life skills. The kids can buy pencils, erasers, fidget items, pens, stickers, and more within the budget you set for them!
VOLUNTEERS RUN THIS STORE! SIGN UP TO HELP! This is a great way to spend 30 minutes with your kid and get involved in the wonderful JET family. PTO will ensure someone will help guide you during your first shift and show you the ropes
