Our PTO is made up of hard-working parents & teachers who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. Those listed below volunteered to provide leadership this year. Get to know their names and faces, and feel free to ask them if you have questions.

Presidents

Sarah Schnure president@herodpto.org

Sarah has been a member of the PTO Executive Board for the last three years and active serving on committees since her kids became part of the Jet Family. She currently has two Herod Students, in 4th and 2nd grade and Jet alumnus who attends MPVA. When not volunteering at Herod, Sarah works for UTHealth Houston in Management, Finance and Operations. Sarah, her husband John, and their three kids enjoy family vacations, getting together with friends, cheering on the Astros and forever bleeding LSU Tiger purple and gold.

Ashley McDonough president@herodpto.org

Ashley is the mom of a 4th grade Jet and an alumni who is at Meyerland MS. She has been on the PTO Executive Board for 4 years in the roles of Secretary, VP and now Co-President. She has been active on the PTO by serving as Auction Chair, Spirt Night Chair, & Corporate Partnership Chair. When she isn’t doing all things PTO, she is working with her husband, Robbie, at their RV repair & storage shop, RV Masters. Ashley enjoys watching movies with her family, trying new restaurants, & watching college football, Hook em’!

Executive Vice President 

Jawanza Hampton- Jawanza's love of the Herod Jets has kept her involved in PTO for the past 10 years, most recently serving on the Executive Board as Vice-President. Jawanza a native New Orleanian is the wife of Keith who she met while attending Texas Southern University, they have a 4th grade daughter (who has befriended the entire school) and a Herod Jet alum who currently attends Lamar High School. Jawanza brings her knack for organization, planning, and design to the Herod PTO and when she isn't volunteering her time, she is working as Director of Rooms for Crowne Plaza Hotels, curating memories with The Libra Lily Events or being Co-Leader of Girl Scout Troop 147142. The Hampton Krewe can be found road-tripping, watching movies and having game nights with friends and family.

Vice Presidents

LaTosha Rhone - LaTosha is a wife and mother of 3 including 2 current Jets and one Jet Alumni! She has been a member of the Herod PTO for many years but began working on the board during the 2022-23 school year during which she served as our Communications and Merchandise Chair. She loves all things crafty and is a Girl Scout Troop Leader in San Jacinto Council.

Stephanie Kaspar -Stephanie started volunteering with the PTO last year and is excited to be a part of the PTO board. Stephanie and her husband Kyle have two kids, Colton and Morgan. Colton will be entering 1st grade and Morgan will enter Kindergarten next year. Stephanie works full-time as a civil engineer and when she is not working or up at Herod, she also volunteers at Westbury Little League helping out where needed. Her family loves tailgating for Aggie football, Astros baseball, camping, swimming, or anything outdoors.

Secretary 

Courney Robinson-Trotter-Courtney began working the PTO last year as a part of the communications team and this will be her first year as a member of the board. She has one current jet entering the third grade. Both her and her husband have been educators for over a decade with experience in HISD and neighboring districts. Her family definitely shares a love for superheroes and is often finding new movies, comics, and items to collect. She is excited to be a part of this team and all the work that goes into to making Herod great!

Treasurer 

Alicia Welch- Alicia is a busy working mom of 3 Herod Jets, Julia (4th grade), Zachary (2nd grade) and Ethan (Kinder), but she loves giving back to the school with her time, talent and treasure via the PTO. Last year, she was on the auction committee as the decorations chair. This is her first year on the executive team but is looking forward to being a part of the organization for many years to come! The Welch Family has a passion for sports, staying busy playing baseball, softball, tennis, doing gymnastics and swimming; and of course catching all the Astros and Aggie games either in person or on TV!

Assistant Treasurer

Tamatha Grant - Tamatha is the mom of two Herod Jets in the 3rd and 5th grades. Last year she was an active member of the PTO Board of Directors serving as the Budget Committee Chair. She looks forward to another great year of service with the amazing PTO of Herod. Tamatha and her husband enjoys watching movies and exploring outdoors with their three children.

Teacher Representative

Marcella Melancon - Ms. Melancon  better known as the founding Kindergarten Queen, is serving in her second year on the Herod PTO Executive Board as the Teacher Representative. Ms. Melancon recently took off her Herod parent hat as her daughter graduated 5th grade and is excitedly moving on to MPVA this Fall. Ms. Melancon has been touching the lives of Herod children and families for the past 20 years as she leads and inspires the Kinder Crayola pack in room 193. Marcella holds a bachelors and masters degree from the University of Houston (GO COOGS!) in elementary Education and Administration. When she isn’t molding future minds, she is a girl scout leader, avid member of the community, and enjoys spending as much time as possible with family and her many friends.

Immediate Past Presidents

Michelle Manning- Michelle is the proud Mom of a freshly minted Herod Alum who is heading off to MPVA for 6th grade. She has been active in Herod’s PTO since her daughter entered Kindergarten, holding many roles over the years. She most recently capped off her Herod PTO career serving as President. Michelle also works full time in Telecommunications and keeps up with a bustling Girl Scout troop as a volunteer. In her spare time she can be found traveling with family, friends and most especially her daughter as they aim to touch all corners of the world. Michelle is also a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Gig’Em!

Rochelle Cabe - Rochelle has been an active member of the Herod community and PTO for the past 7 years, serving in many roles, including 4 years on the Executive Board, capping off last year as President. She is known as Mom to two children, a 7th grade Herod alum who attends MPVA and a current Herod 4th grader. Rochelle can't help herself when it comes to volunteering as she has served on numerous school and philanthropic boards over the past 20 years. By day, Rochelle is an attorney with Kahana Feld, which explains her undying love for PTO bylaws!  When not dedicating her free time to strengthening her community through volunteer work, she and her husband can also be found running, cycling, taking in Houston’s restaurant culture, enjoying friends and family, or snuggled up with their kids, dogs and cats!
