2nd grade

How long have your been a teacher?

This is my 5th year.

Are you a morning or night person? Why?

Morning! My puppy has turned me into a morning person.

What type of food would you NEVER eat?

Blue cheese

What is your favorite sport to watch and/or play?

I love to watch football! My favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys.

What is your favorite day of the week?

Friday! :)

What do you do in your free time?

Cook, Bake, workout, and play with my pup.

Which subject in school is your favorite?

Science or SS

What is one goal you have for yourself at Herod?

With all the changes in the school year I want to work on having a positive outlook even when things are getting tough.

What do you think makes a good teacher?

I believe a good teacher is someone who builds positive relationships with their students and ultimately teaches a child how to be a good person. These are the building blocks of a classroom that helps students grow academically and in their everyday lives.

What is your favorite family holiday tradition?

During Christmas, I started the traditions of having a cookie decorating contest. I bake all the cookies and set up all the decorations.

Where do you like to vacation?

I love to visit my family in Illinois. I’d love to visit Spain or St. Tropez one day.

What would the students be surprised to find out about you?

When I was in 5th grade I was class president!

What is one of your hidden talents?

It’s silly but I do a pretty great job at fixing the copier if it’s not working.

What has been your favorite teaching moment?

I received new teacher of the year a few years back! :) One of my favorite student memories was when I had a student who grew 7 reading levels in one year. It made me feel like I was truly making a difference!
